Alturas will play music for listening during dinner at this festival. The festival is a whole weekend event held at the New Ivanhoe Hotel at Blackheath. Entry is free, and there are many fantastic bands to hear. Note: there is no dance floor at this venue. Details: Steve Jewell 4787 7448

TANGO AT THE IMPERIAL


Alturas will host another of their popular tango events, joined by Sandy, Tim & Albert, who will be DJ'ing and MC'ing. A great night is guaranteed. Alturas will be playing a mix of danceable tangos, vals and milongas with their unique lineup of instruments: flute, violin, saxophone, double bass and piano. Special guest for the evening will be Ricardo Andino, who will be singing a couple of tango numbers to start the evening. The event will be held in the Ballroom of the Hotel Imperial at Mt Victoria. The dining room adjoins the ballroom, where delicious meals are available. The ballroom opens onto the veranda and courtyard with French doors. This is a wonderful historic hotel with plenty of accommodation available. The hotel is located walking distance from the train station, making it an ideal weekend away! All styles will be catered for with specially selected music from Tim and Albert. Tickets are just $10.
